A game built on consent
Terms of Use
Effective 4 September 2026
These terms apply when you download or use the Weirdly Close app. By using the app, you agree to these terms and Apple’s applicable App Store terms.
Using the app
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Weirdly Close on Apple devices you own or control, subject to the App Store rules. You may not copy, resell, reverse engineer or commercially redistribute the app or its card content except where the law does not allow that restriction.
Consent and personal responsibility
Weirdly Close is an entertainment product, not professional, medical or mental-health advice. Prompts may lead to personal conversations. Participation is voluntary: any player can pass any card, stop a game or leave a conversation without explanation. Respect other people’s boundaries and do not use the app to pressure, embarrass, discriminate against or endanger anyone.
Adult content
The After Dark pack is intended only for adults aged 18 or over. You must confirm that you are an adult before accessing it. That confirmation is not identity or age verification. Do not enable or use the pack with minors.
Purchases
Optional packs are non-consumable in-app purchases processed by Apple. Prices, taxes, refunds, billing and family-sharing availability are controlled by Apple and may vary by country. Use Restore purchases in the app to recover eligible purchases made with the same Apple ID.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the app reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may update, improve or remove features and card content where reasonably necessary for safety, law, platform requirements or product quality.
Intellectual property
The Weirdly Close name, interface, artwork and supplied prompts are original content or are used with permission and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership to you.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or your statutory consumer rights. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss, or for what players choose to say or do during a game.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you also keep any mandatory rights and may bring a claim in the courts available under the law where you live.
